Last Working Month of My 40s…

This post was written by by Sarah Griffin.

As I approach my 50th birthday this May, I am reflecting on my last working month in my 40s, a time that’s been filled with both personal and professional milestones. I have worked in law for over 26 years, the last 15 years in family law both as a PA and Office Manager, navigating the complexities of the legal world whilst also managing the day-to-day operations of a busy office.  This role has allowed me to grow not only in my career but also in my ability to balance the many roles I play in life.  It hasn’t always been easy, but it has certainly been rewarding and I have met some amazing people along the way.

Being a mother, wife, and caregiver to an elderly parent has taught me the true meaning of multitasking. Each day, I juggle the responsibilities at home with my work, ensuring that I am present for my family and managing the demands of a legal office.  Family law is a field I have dedicated myself to, requires compassion and precision, and this has influenced how I approach my personal life as well.  One thing that has always kept me grounded is my love for my yearly holidays abroad which I always look forward to.  As I step into my 50s, I feel a renewed sense of appreciation for the family, career, and experiences that have shaped me into the woman I am today.

Turning 50 feels like a major milestone for me, a time to look back with pride and forward with anticipation.   I have spent my 40s learning how to balance the demands of work, family, caregiving, and the importance of taking time for myself. I know the next decade will bring its own set of challenges and joys.  As I close out this last month of my 40s,  I am so excited to continue growing both professionally and personally, with gratitude for the journey so far and optimism for what’s to come.   Here’s to the month of May and the celebrations it brings!
