Domestic Violence and Injunctive Relief

Legal Protection When You Need It Most

No one should feel unsafe in their own home or relationship. If you’re experiencing abuse, threats, or harassment, legal protection is available. At First Line Family Law, we provide urgent, confidential support and expert guidance to help you feel safe and take back control.

Immediate Legal Protection Against Harm

Domestic abuse comes in many forms — physical, emotional, psychological, financial, or controlling behaviour. Whatever your situation, you have the right to be safe, and we are here to help you act quickly and decisively.

Domestic abuse affects individuals from all walks of life. At First Line Family Law, we understand how difficult it can be to take the first step toward seeking help. That’s why we offer a safe, supportive, and confidential service to help you explore your legal options without pressure or judgment.

We can help you apply for injunctive relief through the Family Court, including:

  • Non-Molestation Orders – to protect you and/or your children from violence, threats, or harassment. Breaching this order is a criminal offence.
  • Occupation Orders – to determine who can live in the family home or exclude an abuser from the premises, even if they are the legal owner or tenant.

In many cases, emergency applications can be made without notifying the other person (ex parte applications), allowing you to seek protection quickly and discreetly.

We work closely with support organisations and the police when needed and will always tailor our approach to your safety, comfort, and legal needs. If children are involved, we’ll also guide you through any related safeguarding concerns or arrangements.
